Kathleen Cope, LPC-A
Kathleen is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in South Carolina. She holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a Concentration in Trauma and Abuse from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology. She also has certification in Trauma-Informed Narrative Focused Care (Level II) from The Allender Center.
Kathleen is passionate about working with clients through life’s challenges with compassion, care, and curiosity. She understands that starting therapy can feel overwhelming, so she creates a safe and supportive space where clients can share their story, feel seen, and go at their own pace.
Kathleen has a holistic approach, honoring the connection between mind, body, and soul. She integrates her psychodynamic background with polyvagal theory, attachment theory, parts work, and story work to help clients move toward healing.
Kathleen works with individuals facing relational difficulties, emotional dysregulation, and childhood trauma. She is experienced in working with clients navigating symptoms of PTSD, CPTSD, anxiety, depression, abuse, abandonment, and grief. She is passionate about helping clients who feel stuck discover new pathways to connection, growth, and transformation.
Outside of counseling, Kathleen enjoys coffee, writing, and spending time outdoors. You’ll often find her cheering on her four kids at their sporting events, out on a date with her hubby, or walking trails with a friend.
Kathleen is available to see clients on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. You can schedule an appointment with her by emailing her directly at kcope@citycentercounseling.org.
